Welfare for Animals Guild Story

Since 2001, we have been Sequim Washington’s only all-dog rescue group.  WAG (Welfare for Animals Guild) has placed over 1,200 dogs into new, loving homes.

Our rescues come to us in many ways.  From owner surrenders due to unplanned life changes, and from over-populated shelters. We also rescue many local strays found wandering the streets and fields.

We are a 501 C(3) non- profit organization, and all donations are tax deductible. We are an all- volunteer organization, and  100% of donations go directly to the care and rehabilitation of the dogs prior to their adoption.

For instance, last  year in addition to other expenses, our veterinary bill was over $45,000. We do multiple fundraisers throughout the year to raise money to meet our expenses. Prior to adoption, all of our rescues are spayed/neutered, receive all vaccines, are micro- chipped, and all other medical needs are addressed.

What sets us apart from other rescue groups is that the dogs live in private homes until they are adopted. We get to really know the dogs and in that way are able to find the perfect match for them. We have foster families that care for the dogs right along with their own dogs. We pay for all their needs and they provide the love!

Training is provided if needed . See our article on The Prison Training Program.
